10 days old...

Maddy is 10 days old today and it's been a whirlwind since she was born. We were in the hospital Friday night through Monday and they gave us a bit of a scare when they told us Monday morning that she was jaundiced and might need to stay to go under the lights. We were all ready with the car seat and everything and I started crying at the thought of having to leave Madalyn behind. But they talked to her pediatrician who said her bilirubin levels were not high enough to need the lights and he wanted us to come into the office the next day. Needless to say they checked her Tuesday and Wednesday and said she's doing great so we felt much better. She is feeding well and gaining weight each day. She seems to be in a good pattern of sleeping for 3 to 5 hour stints at night (giving Mommy some much needed sleep time!) Sometimes she's a bit fussy between 8-11 PM, but Daddy has been reading up on soothing techniques and they seem to be working most of the time. What an amazing time this is - I can't believe she's here!!

Here are some pictures of her first week at home....

there is nothing wrong with having to go under the lights. Some of the best babies out there have had to do that. Including some really good unlces...

She is too cute! And already going easy on mom. 5 hrs of sleep a nite? Nice.
