Madalyn is 1 month old!

Sunday Maddy turned 1 month old! It's hard to believe she's been here for a month already. It's been an amazing journey so far - much harder but much more rewarding than I ever expected. This morning I went to my second "New Moms" group which is held every Tuesday in Burlington and is 8 weeks long. It's great to get out of the house and there are 7 other girls in the group who all have babies ranging from 3 weeks to 2 months old. It's nice to hear that others are going through all of the same issues/concerns/etc that we are! It's a good group and a great way to meet new friends.

On Thursday I brought Madalyn in to Greg's office to show her off and she was a perfect angel - awake and alert and not crying! We then decided to venture out to lunch to a diner in Lexington and all went well - just a tiny bit of fussing right as we were leaving. Madalyn seems to do well when we take her out...

We got our Christmas tree on Saturday and got a wreath as well. We decorated our outside lamppost with garland, lights and a big red bow and it looks great. We've put up all of our Christmas decorations and decorated the tree and it looks very festive around here. It's nice to be home and be able to enjoy it!

I also recently got a breast pump which will allow us to start giving Maddy a bottle once in a while. Greg has now fed her twice with the bottle and she's taken it without any issues. We'll have to plan a date night soon .... :)

All in all things are going well and we're really not too sleep deprived, which is surprising. I guess you really do adjust quickly to the new lifestyle and things like lack of sleep don't affect you as much as they might once have. Madalyn is still sleeping pretty well at night and usually goes 3 hours at a time of good sleep before waking to feed. According to the experts, 5 straight hours of sleep for a baby is "sleeping through the night". Not sure who decided on that number but it does sound nice!
