January 19th update
It feels like we're starting to turn the corner... Madalyn has been smiling a lot more and the
daytime and evening fussiness has decreased drastically. I've been able to actually set her down in her swing, crib, bouncer, etc with no crying! She's actually been taking her naps in the swing, which is fine by me if she gets the sleep she needs :) She's sleeping well at night, getting up generally once or sometimes twice to feed, but has had some good stretches of sound sleep, and is going to sleep earlier (around 8ish.) Hopefully this isn't a fluke! We noticed a sort of trend that when we give her bottles she seems less fussy/more content afterwards and spits up less. Doesn't matter if it's pumped breast milk or formula. So I've been giving her bottles and pumping, and only direct breast feeding during the night, and it seems to be going well. Not sure if it's just coincidental timing? I think maybe the position she's in when we feed her bottles helps with her tummy and reflux. Who knows - it seems to be working! And she's going to daycare in 2 weeks where she'll be getting bottles during the day so it's good to get her used to more bottles. Here are a few cute pics from today....
