We had a breakthrough last night! Madalyn slept a full night in the crib, NO car seat, just the crib. She was asleep when we put her in there, and stirred a bit, but settled right in. I heard her babbling, wide awake, around 1 AM, and she was quite animated for about a half hour, but no crying, and eventually fell back asleep until 7:30 this morning. So that is exciting for us. We're going to try again tonight and see how it goes. She had been sleeping in the car seat in the crib, and sleeping so well - 11 hours a night, straight - so it's hard to change that. But we want her to get used to sleeping in the crib and she's getting too big for the car seat anyway.
Yesterday Amy, one of the girls from my new mom's group, hosted a get together at her house - there were 5 of us there and it was lots of fun catching up. Then Greg, Maddy and I went up to Salem to the craft show that Grammy Mullen was working at. We walked around for a while. Maddy had some bad gas and let out a huge burp and then was fine after that. Poor girl! Then we went back to Grammy and Grampy's and ordered take out for dinner. A fun filled day!
Today we ventured down to Milton, MA for a Maple Sugar Festival at the Blue Hills Reservation. We brought Wilson with us and he was a big hit - all the kids wanted to pet him, and he did really well. Madalyn came along in the Baby Bjorn and loved the fresh air. It wasn't too cold, and they had a nice big fire burning, and we had fun being out and about.
Tonight we're hanging in and getting ready for the week....
