Madalyn on the Move!

After being extremely close to crawling for the past couple of weeks, Maddy has finally crawled! We thought that she would skip the crawling altogether and start walking because she seemed more interested in rolling and standing (with Mommy & Daddy's help). She's so funny because she'll crawl like two or three steps then maneuver back to a sitting position and then look at us, smile and start clapping. She is very impressed with herself - well we all are very impressed with her except for Wilson the curmudgeon (Who by the way is now "glow in the dark white" after a day at the doggie salon on Saturday). I think Wilson would rather Maddy remain the "Maddy Blob" she's been for the first months of her life. Wilson and Maddy will get along famously once Wilson makes peace with the fact that: 1) Maddy is here to stay and 2) He may get an ear or tail pulled from time to time - it could be a lot worse!
So we are getting the old homestead ready for the arrival of Granny Nan & Grandpa Yankee (its funny how his arrival is coinciding with the erosion of the 15 game lead the Sox had on the Yankees in the AL East only a few months ago) and for our BBQ this weekend - it will prove to be a more intimate gathering than past BBQs, but hopefully the weather is nice and we can get some bocce and horseshoes in.
That's all for now - Maddy has her nine month checkup this week, so we will post her stats later on this week. It will be nice to see Dr. Gellar (who I think is a dead ringer for Mr. Bob Saget) I really want to tell him, but Kristen doesn't think thats a good idea in case he takes it as an insult and it becomes really awkward between all of us. Perhaps she's right although it's not like Bob Saget is really a bad looking guy - it's not like I'm telling him he looks like Kevin Youkilis or Jerry Stiller.
