Maddy being Maddy

Where to start......so much has happened this month since the gala event that was Madalyn's first birthday. Kristen and I enjoyed some R&R in Guanica, Puerto Rico while Grammy Mullen and Maddy had an action packed four days of visiting, shopping, eating, tumbling, crawling, and laughing their way through most of New England (Maddy and Grammy both like to be on the go). We had a great time in Puerto Rico but we missed our little Maddy a lot and after four days we were ready to head home. We don't know what exactly went on a Grammy's house - but Maddy shows no permanent signs of damage due to excessive spoiling, exposure to television, chocolate or Grampy Mullen's funny faces - so all is well. And Grammy seemed to enjoy herself as she is already asking us to go away again!
Last week was Thanksgiving - which in my opinion is the best Holiday. We headed back up to Grammy & Grampy's house to visit. The meal was delicious and Maddy got to sit at the adult table for the second seating - she was nice enough to let Mommy and Daddy eat with the rest of the adults while she took her afternoon nap. It was nice to see everyone and it was the first time she got to meet 2nd cousin Mark & his wife Katie.
Last weekend we went up to Bedford NH to visit our friends Paul and Jena and their daughter Marin. Maddy and Marin had fun crawling around and playing together. They even went to bed around the same time which allowed the grown ups to shoot some darts and pool in Paul's "ManTown" Pub (I've very jealous).
Maddy also graduated to Infant II at daycare. Which is a big step. She is adjusting nicely but she misses her friends and teachers from Infant I. We are told that they miss her as well as she was always good for a laugh and liked to help keep the little kids in line. :)
We say this every post, but Maddy is so close to walking. She lunges from one piece of furniture to the other and laughs hysterically but she still gets a bit nervous when she has to take more than two steps so she reverts to her injured war veteran style of crawling. Which is pretty funny in itself and completely normal according to Dr. Bob Saget (aka Dr Geller).
She is enjoying all of her new toys from her Birthday and really loves to knock over blocks and dive into piles of pillows (but hey who doesn't). I guess that would put her on the stunt woman, roller derby, or gymnast career track - but it may be a bit early to tell.
Also I should mention that Mr. Woodrow Wilson turned eight years old on November 20th. He celebrated in usual Wilson style.... alone with his thoughts (or should I say thought) in his newly renovated and relocated quarters. He really is a great dog and has come along way. He is great around Maddy and very good at cleaning up around the high chair after her eating sessions.
