Memorial Day Weekend

We had a fun-filled weekend and beautiful weather, which was so nice. Saturday we went up to the horse races in Salem - it's free to get in and they have a nice grassy outdoor area that's perfect for kids to run around. Maddy loved seeing the horses and kept saying "hi!" or "neigh, neigh" whenver they would run by. Grandma and Grandpa Myers arrived back from their trip to Denver early on Sunday. We spent a good portion of the day outside, which Maddy loved, especially the visit to the local playground. Monday we went to the parade in Billerica- we arrived early and got a great spot in the town center area, perfect for parade viewing. Maddy loved all of the activity, especially all of the little kids, and DOGS that were running around the center green. She sat on Greg's lap for the entire duration of the parade (it wasn't very long, but still). She was too funny, asking "more, more" every time the attraction passed by us (i.e. the band, then the cub scouts, then the fire trucks). Monday afternoon we went to Jenn & Shawn's for a bbq, played some bocce and lawn darts and enjoyed the day off from work. We have another busy weekend planned this coming weekend, and then I head to London for the week for work. I will definitely miss Greg and Maddy (and Wilson...).
Speaking of Wilson, he suddenly started limping a few days ago, but we can't figure out what is wrong. It doesn't seem to be his paw, but he will hardly put any weight on his left front leg. I'm going to call the vet tomorrow to make an appt - it's not bothering him too much except for the noticeable limp. Hopefully it's nothing serious - he's 8 years old now and the average life expectancy of a racing greyhound is 8-12 years. :(
Lately Madalyn is just so entertaining - she is such an animated, expressive child and so full of life. She loves saying "hi" to everyone, including all animals. And has started piecing together 2 word phrases, like "bye Mommy" or "hi Daddy". She loves dancing to music and has picked up some hilarious moves as of late (maybe at daycare??) And she can understand so many words now it is just amazing to me. I can't believe she's already 18 months old - crazy how fast time is moving.
