Short Week

We had a nice weekend and this is a short week for us - Greg and I planned a couple of nights away, while Maddy gets to spend some time with Grammy and Bubba in Salem. Thursday we are headed to Mohegan Sun and Friday we're staying at a nice Inn in Mystic, CT. It's supposed to be very cold here all week and snow is possible. Our room in Mystic has its own wood burning fireplace which will be nice and cozy.

This past weekend our friends Jason (aka "Goody") and Alyson had a birthday party for their oldest son Harrison who turned three. It was at the Easton Childrens Museum which is a really neat place with plenty for kids to do. Madalyn had a good time and her favorite part was getting her very own chocolate cupcake, which we proceeded to devour.

Last weekend we visited Auntie Jenn for an Avon/Princess House party. Maddy actually napped in the guest room in her pack n play for most of the afternoon, but seemed to enjoy herself for the afternoon. We also caught up with our friends Steve and Heather who have a 14 month old girl named Mae. They live in Lexington, only about 10 minutes from us, and Steve grilled up some steak tips and we watched some football while the girls played - we hadn't seen them in ages and it was nice to catch up.

Madalyn had her 2 year check up 2 weeks ago and everything went fine. She weighs 33 lbs (96th percentile) and is 35 inches tall (77th percentile). She also got one shot and a finger prick to draw blood for lead testing and didn't even flinch for either -tough girl! She was excited to get the bandaid so it must have distracted her from the actual pain of the shot. As shy as she often is with people she doesn't know well, she loves her doctor and thinks he is pretty funny. She's been walking around the house saying "Dr Geller funny" which cracks me up. I'm glad she is comfortable with him - he has two daughters in elementary school so knows how to relate to her :)
