#2 is on the way... and it's a GIRL
I think here are only a handful of readers of this blog and you probably already heard the news that we are expecting another baby this summer, and that it will be a little sister for Maddy. We are excited and starting to plan for the new arrival. Maddy will be moving to a new (bigger) bedroom and the room she is in now will be the nursery. This weekend we spackled what will be her new room, and then next weekend will be painting it. Then after that we're having new carpet put in to replace the blue carpet in there now, and are finally carpeting guest room (we just have a square rug in there now with rough edges that is a couple inches too short. The guest room will soon become the guest room/office - it will be a bit tight but should work out OK. We also recently got new hallway runners that really make a big difference - the ones we had were blue and getting a bit raggedy - the new ones are tan and beige and go well with the overall color scheme in the house. We had been considering adding another bathroom (in our master bedroom) but have since learned that being on a slab, as opposed to having a basement, greatly increases the plumbing costs, especially since our main sewerage pipe is in the back of the house for some reason - the farthest place from where we intended to put the bathroom. So we'll make do with one bathroom and hope we are able to sell this house in the next 5 years and get something a bit bigger! With four of us, including 3 GIRLS, sharing a bathroom, that could get ugly!
Anyway, here are a few recent pics. It was really nice out last weekend and drove over to the coast to get some nice fresh air and enjoyed watching the waves. Then we headed to Woodman's for some lobster rolls. Maddy also wanted to say thanks to Marin for turning 2 and having a fun birthday party where the kids all got their very own cupcakes -yummy!
