Florida Post

We had a nice vacation to Florida in early February. Unfortunately the weather was quite chilly the entire time but only a little bit of rain so that was good. The flights were uneventful - both Maddy and Caitlin were great and no delays, which was a miracle considering there was a huge winter snowstorm here the day we flew back!

We started out in Orlando for 2 nights. Uncle Darren got us all kinds of deals as usual (free tickets to the park, half off the hotel bill, discount on meals). Grandpa Yankee & Granny Nan were there as well and we had some nice dinners out and a fun day at Magic Kingdom.

Next we packed up the family truckster and headed to Grandma and Grandpa's house (LOVED the minivan - never thought I'd admit that!) We had a really nice, relaxing and enjoyable visit. Maddy and Caitlin had lots of fun and got all kinds of attention. Maddy loved helping Grandpa pick oranges from the tree and making fresh squeezed orange juice. We made it to the beach a couple of times - bundled up but still on the beach. Maddy enjoyed searching for shells and building sand castles while Caitlin slept a little bit and enjoyed the wind blowing her wispy hair. We took a day trip up to Bradenton for a BBQ at Dad & Nancy's and got to visit Dee Dee who met Caitlin for the first time. We also went to the Aquarium in Sarasota one of the rainy days.

Overall it was a relaxing time and nice to be with family and away from work for a little bit. Next year I think we'll wait until March or April to hopefully ensure WARMER weather!
