Sept is here already

We had one of the best summers I can remember with so many sunny warm days. We managed to pack in a ton of fun activities, trips, etc. I still can't believe how fast it always seems to go by though. Now Sept is here and the fall activities are in full force.

Greg and my anniversary was August 21st - 6 years!! We actually went to Storyland in North Conway with the girls, and Jena, Paul, Marin, and Declan. It was a fun weekend. The first night the adults hung out in the hotel hallway and played cards while the kids slept - we got some funny looks from some people, but most knew exactly why we were out there. On our actual anniversary, Greg and I took the girls to a local brew pup and had a nice dinner out. Everyone was well behaved and it was a fun night out - the girls had both taken nice late naps so were in good moods well past their normal bedtime.

We had a nice Labor Day weekend in Vermont and a great visit with Grandma and Grampa Myers - I managed to forget the camera (a first!) so don't have any pictures to share. The Rutland fair was going on and we had a fun day there on Sunday. Maddy LOVED the rides (just like her Mommy ;)) and and Caitlin just wanted to walk everywhere.

This past weekend Maddy started soccer. Her team is the "Blue Sharks" (or "Blue Shacks" as it's pronounced around here...) She's #7 - her pick. She did really well for her first time ever playing - she was a little timid about really getting in there and going after the ball, but I have a feeling she'll continue to improve each week. About half of the kids on her team wouldn't even get in the game and play, and one kid was doing log rolls on the field while the other kids were playing - it was quite humorous actually. Maddy is very good at listening to her coach and following instructions so I think she'll do well and seemed to enjoy it. Her favorite part was sitting in a circle after the game eating oranges :)

On Sunday we went Apple picking and picked a huge bag of Honey Crisp apples which are absolutely delicious! Caitlin had a ball walking all over the orchard, and Maddy was a big help picking the apples.
