Winter is here

Well, winter is definitely upon us for sure. We had a very light covering of snow for Christmas which was nice, and then had a big storm the Monday right after Christmas. It was certainly fun for the kids! December was full of Christmas and holiday type activities:
- Tree lighting festival in Billerica
- Pictures with Santa (both girls did great and it was quite and authentic looking Santa!)
- Santa's Big Party at Charmingfare Farm in NH with the Slosbergs - a horse drawn hay ride to a big bonfire and lots of characters dancing and being merry - a fun time had by all
- Christmas parties
- Birthday parties

Christmas Day was nice as well - the girls actually slept in until after 8AM! I was up earlier waiting for them to get up so we could all do our stockings in our bedroom (tradition). We did gifts and played for most of the morning, then the Mullens and Duponts came over in the afternoon for a nice beef roast dinner (which was delicious, mainly thanks to Greg for doing most of the cooking). Then round two of the gifts which lasted almost until Caitlin's bedtime! A fun day with very thoughtful and generous family :)

Greg and I got Maddy tickets to see Disney on Ice "Princess Wishes" at the Garden in Boston. We went on Monday 12/27 in the afternoon. The storm kept a lot of people away and it really wasn't that crowded but definitely a great show and it was right up Maddy's alley - she loved it and was practicing all of their moves when we got home.

On NYE we all headed up to Jena and Paul's for a small get together. There was a large amount of food and drink to be had, and we all indulged for sure! We stayed over until morning - the girls slept great (Maddy kicked Marin out of Marin's bed though - sorry Marin!)

Now we are back in the swing of the normal daily grind but all is well. I took Maddy to get her haircut yesterday and had them take a few inches off. Her hair is beautiful but was sooo long and thick - it needed a trim and feels a bit lighter now. Also, I signed Maddy and Caitlin up for swim lessons which start this Sunday. Their friends Annabelle and Sam are taking the same classes, respectively, so it should be fun. Of course the real treat is heading to Starbucks afterwards for treats (yes, the kids get treats too:))

What a fun time for everyone, especially when you have Maddy and Caitlin to watch and see the excitement in their eyes. Christmas is a special time of year and we miss being their with you. But, we will see you here in FL and can hardly wait. Love, Mom and Tom
